Improve Your Medicare Coverage With Supplements
The Medicare program comes with a host of supplements that are often referred to as Medigap plans. They are designed to help cover things like your copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.
They also can cover a range of conditions and situations not met by the basic Medicare policies you have.

Take a Quick Overview of the Plans Available
Medicare Plan A - One of the basic supplements, this is designed to cover the costs of coinsurance and copayments with Medicare Parts A and B.
Medicare Plan B - Similar to Plan A, but including coverage for the Medicare Part A deductible, this plan could save you thousands of dollars every year on things like hospitalization costs.
Medicare Plan C - Combining a lot of the coverage of Plan A and Plan B, Plan C is a more comprehensive Medicap policy. It also can help cover costs for an emergency during foreign travel. However, it is available only to people who signed up for Medicare before January 1, 2020.
Medicare Plan D - Similar to Plan C but still available, Plan D can help cover a lot of the costs associated with the original Medicare Parts deductibles, coinsurance, and copays, as well as a foreign travel emergency.
Medicare Plan F - The most comprehensive of all Medigap plans - think of Plan F for "Full" coverage - this plan will leave you with no out-of-pocket expenses beyond your monthly premium. It also is not tied to one network or region. Like Plan C, however, this plan is only available to those who had Medicare before January 1, 2020.
Medicare Plan G - Surpassed only by Plan F, this is another comprehensive alternative. It can be less expensive than Plan F because it doesn't cover the Part B deductible. Unlike Plan F, it is still available to new Medicare enrollees.
Medicare Plan K - This supplement covers 100% of Part A medical costs and coinsurance, up to an additional 365 days after Medicare benefits are depleted, and also will cover half of other costs under Parts A and B.
Medicare Plan L - Otherwise similar to Plan K, Plan L covers not half but 75% of certain expenses related to Parts A and B. Taken together with the additional cost sharing and deductibles, your premiums may be lower than with other supplement plans.
Medicare Plan M - Although this plan covers many costs that Parts A and B don't, it doesn't provide coverage for Part B deductibles or excess charges. When combined with its 50% coverage for your Part A deductible, Plan M can offer lower monthly premiums when compared to other supplemental plans.
Medicare Plan N - Similar to Plan F and G, Plan N is another plan that has a lower monthly premium because you will see more out-of-pocket expenses. You will be responsible for Part B deductible and excess charges, as well as some copay costs.
